SHU’s McNair Program is Recruiting New Students

The Siena Heights University McNair Program is looking for a few good students!  Maybe you qualify!  Are you interested in going on to graduate school to further your career interests??  The McNair Scholars Program can help you!   Applications are being accepted now through the end of November.

The McNair Scholars program prepares talented undergraduates for payday loans graduate school and ultimately a doctoral degree. This is a federally funded program and is intended to help students in one of two groups:

  •  Participants must be either a member of an underrepresented group in graduate education

(African American, Hispanic American, Native American or Alaskan Indian)

  •  OR a low-income and first generation college student.

In addition, applicants should be United States citizens, full-time students with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.00 or higher, at least sophomore status, have a declared major, and be committed to attending graduate school

The McNair Program provides:

  • Research opportunities with a faculty mentor
  • Assistance in locating graduate schools
  • Graduate school visits
  • A summer research course
  • An annual stipend
  • Professional conferences
  • Preparation for the Graduate Record Examination
