Freshman Benjamin Armbruster Off to Hot Start for Spring Golf Season
During the Spring Break Invitational, hosted by Lawrence Tech Invitational. The Siena Heights Men’s and Women’s golf programs travelled down to Opelika, Alabama to play in a big tournament over Spring Break. Ben Armbruster, a freshman standout on the golf team, stood out the most from everyone in both programs during this tournament because of his play. After a struggle on the first day, Armbruster played the last 27 holes only two over par. Armbruster shot an even par 72 including an incredible score of 3 under on the back 9 during day 2 of the tournament. Armbruster said that he was “hitting it very well off the tee” which allowed him to be able to score effectively. Armbruster also stated that he putted very well during this tournament, which also allowed him to score very well. Overall, Armbruster had a great experience, this performance allowed him to make the A-team and travel to Kentucky to play in another tournament also hosted by Lawarence Tech on March 25th and 26th, where Armbruster will look to continue his red-hot play. Armbruster also could not thank his coach enough for getting the program out on a sweet course like RTJ Grand National and will look to continue to play great golf and help the Saints make a run at Nationals.
