Michael’s love of sports started when he was a little kid. Rampe states, “I watched these sports growing up, which were my favorite and are NCAA football and basketball.” The main reason Michael became obsessed with sports was watching the sports reporters on tv talk about what was happening in the games. Michael then became obsessed with listening to sports talk on the radio by listening to what the reporters had to say about certain players and teams. Rampe states, “I liked sports radio and how the reporters talked and reported on the game.”

 When it comes to reporting about sports, Michael likes putting his little spin on what is going on in the sporting event. Rampe states, “When watching football, I know the x’s and o’s of the game by breaking down the plays and how they are executed and happen to be successful in-game time.” Another reason why Michael likes reporting about sports because he remembers watching sports at a young age. Rampe states, “The sport that I liked the most growing up was football because I got to watch my favorite team, the Detroit Lions play every weekend.”

Michael would like to become a sports reporter future ahead of him as a career after college. Rampe states, “I like reporting about sports and doing highlights of a game which is my passion.” Michael talks about how he would write stories as a journalist instead of reporting a sports game. He likes to write because he can write in his style and put whatever he would like to say in a story. Most of it is scripted when reporting about sports, and you have to say what is in the script. Rampe states, “Where writing a story, you can put your spin on what you would like to say about what is going on in the stories as a journalist.”
