Inside the Helmet Life

Hi, my name was Eric Williams telling you the what the lifestyle is like. Being a student athlete isn’t easy some even say it’s a full-time job, I think it’s like being a single father. Being a father, you have a child you love more than anything, at times the child will either be a pain in the butt, the best part of your day, or will be the only thing that keeps you grounded. Being a student-athlete, you have your sport that you love more than anything, for some it’s the only reason to stay in school. At times both practice and schoolwork will be the pain in your butt, but you have to pull through to stay eligible. Game days are the best part of the day, maybe even the best part of the week. Your sport will keep you grounded to what’s important overall, and that is getting your degree. The lifestyle forces you to do homework when it’s the last thing on your mind as well as being your escape from the world and all its responsibilities. It keeps you grounded and focused on what’s important while there is always a lot to do and the schedules are hectic and crazy, the explanation on how that works is for another time.
