DELANEY’S DRIVE-THRU REVIEW: KFC

If you have ever been driving down North Main Street and have had to get into the inside lane because of a line to a drive-thru going into the road, then you may know which fast-food restaurant I reviewed next.

If you guessed KFC, you are exactly right.

When I arrived, the line actually was not too bad. It is important to note that I may have been lucky because I did not have to wait in the road. I just want to warn you that many times, their line is ridiculously long.

I waited in line behind about four cars before I actually was able to order (which was about 10 minutes). When I finally got to the speaker to order, the first thing the employee said was “Hi. Just to let you know, we are out of the Original Recipe Chicken and it will take about 35 minutes to make any.” I was a little bummed because I wanted to try it, but I was able to find something else!

I ended up ordering three Classic Chicken Sandwich meals. The person who came with me requested no pickles, and it was made correctly. The other person who came with me requested extra extra pickles, but they said they could not do extra because they had a limited number of pickles.

Aside from the meals, we ordered a large mac and cheese and the Six-Piece Wings. The total was about $31, which is a good price considering all the food we ordered!

I loved my food. The chicken sandwich was so yummy, and the fries would good as well. I also loved the mac and cheese. I did not get a chance to try the wings, but the person who ordered them said they were good! So, I am rating the food a 10/10 for this experience.

Aside from them being out of quite a few things, the service was good. The employee was very nice, and they receive a 10/10 for the COVID-19 Precautions because their mask was on properly. When going through the drive-thru, that is the only thing I could see and notice regarding COVID.

One thing I will note is that ordering my food was way harder than it should have been. This is because their speaker cuts in and out, so when the employee was speaking to me, I struggled to make out what she was saying. I continuously had to say, “I’m sorry, what did you say?” This, and the (usually) long line, would be enough to keep me away, but I did love the food!

After ordering, we waited about 15-20 more minutes, so we were in line for a little over 25 minutes. Overall, I would recommend trying their Classic Chicken Sandwich, but that’s only if you are willing to take a chance with their line and endure trying to order through their terribly faulty speaker.
