DELANEY’S DRIVE-THRU REVIEW: Starbucks
Starbucks is a very popular company, and I am glad we have one in Adrian. I’ve visited this location probably 1,000 times, but the ratings I gave below reflect only this one visit.
During this visit, I ordered a Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato with extra caramel drizzle, and the person who came with me ordered a Venti Iced White Mocha. Sometimes, the drinks we order have too much milk or are not made correctly, but we were happy with the drinks during this visit. The only downfall was there was barely any caramel drizzle in mine, and I requested extra.
Another important aspect of the Starbucks drive-thru is the wait time. The line at this Starbucks gets so long at times that it goes into the road and holds up traffic. During quarantine, I waited in line for 57 minutes start to finish.
I had nothing better to do, so I watched the rest of a Netflix movie while I waited. I just wanted to share that to show that this visit was actually quite rare. I don’t think I waited even 10 minutes total! That has to be a new record for our Adrian Starbucks.
I’m sure we all know how expensive Starbucks is, so that’s why the price section gets a lower rating. The total came to $11.66 for two drinks. Side note: the iced caramel macchiato from McDonald’s actually may taste better than the one from Starbucks – and it’s only $3.50 – basically half the price!
As far as the COVID-19 precautions are concerned, I gave a 10/10 because I saw that the employees were wearing masks, and wearing them properly.
Overall, I know for a fact I will be returning. Some days are a much longer wait than others, which most likely has to do with the time of day you visit. For this visit, I went around 7p.m., and it was not that busy.
I do also want to mention one more thing before ending this review: Usually, I will place my Starbucks order ahead of time through their mobile app. This has saved me so many times. If you do it about 10-15 minutes (depending on the wait time estimated in the app), you may be able to walk in and your drink be waiting for you.
If you like the Iced White Mocha, but don’t like paying $5.78 every time you order it, definitely order it this way through the mobile app and it only charges $3.66: search “Iced Espresso” in the app. Then, change the cup size to a Venti. Under “Add-Ins”, add cream (half & half) and click “regular” when it asks how much to add. Also under “Add-Ins”, click your desired milk, and hit “extra” when it asks how much. Next, under “Flavors” add six pumps of white chocolate sauce, and that’s it!
Disclaimer: Most of the time it tastes identical, but sometimes it depends on the barista and how he/she decides to make it. Enjoy!
