Spa Night Comes to Siena Heights
The Siena Heights student group SPARC, or the Student Programming and Recreation Committee, recently hosted a Spa Night for students on campus.
The event was at Dominican Hall from 7-11 p.m. The event featured massage chairs, which gave deep tissue massages in order to relieve muscle tension and stress. They also had an oxygen bar, where students could sit and relax while oxygen was flowing through their noses. An oxygen bar increases concentration, alertness, and can even help one’s memory, according to the event organizers.
There were also chi machines there for students to enjoy. Chi machines are said to align the spine through passive aerobic exercise.
Many students came out to this relaxing event. The lights were dimmed in Dominican Hall and there was music playing. With the stress of final exams coming up, students said a Spa Night was an excellent place for students to relax. Many students attended the event.
“It was a very interesting event. It’s very nice to have those kinds of events before a break,” student Sebastian Diaz said of the event. “It mentally prepares you for relaxing the next couple of days. It was definitely a good stress reliever.”
Diaz also said that SPARC should continue to do a Spa Night for students.
