Centennial Edition: Walsh Hall and New Buildings on Campus

Siena Heights has been an inspirational school for 100 years, but anything that old can use some updating. And in Siena’s case, it was Walsh Hall that needed it.

Siena Heights used to have a building called Walsh Hall. It was used for various things, like a gym, a theater, a mail room, and cafeteria. But if you visit Siena Heights’ campus today, you will no longer see this building, and would have to visit the Legacy Room to see its remains.

Siena is growing and needed a bigger space for these things. That’s where the Spencer Performing Arts Center came into play, along with the University Center and Fieldhouse.

Spencer was created so we could have a building for theater and many other art classes. There is a theater room, a workshop, classes for teaching and soundproof rooms for practicing.

The University Center was also built to have a larger space for students to eat. It has a huge cafeteria with two floors and snack shop, and bookstore for Siena pride gear. The Fieldhouse was also built, which holds five basketball courts, a weight room and trainer’s room.

They are perfect solutions for a growing campus. The old Walsh Hall was destroyed, but replaced with new beginnings and many possibilities for students.
