COLUMN: An Inside Look at SHU Golf
I had a chance to interview Siena Heights golf head coach Al Sandifer for a few minutes on Wednesday about their most recent meet.
Coach Sandifer has been coaching the sport of golf for 15 years and he also coaches both men and women’s golf.
As far as the teams’ chemistry is looking for this year, he responded by saying, “Our team has always had great chemistry but we have three seniors that have been leading the way for the team.”
The golf team is made up of students from mainly three different states: Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Sandifer informed me that the men’s team had gotten third place in the Cardinals Invitational hosted by Concordia University. Sandifer said the Saints finished with an impressive score of 327.
He also explained to me how they prepare for matches. They do so by trying to practice on a course that will be like the one they play on, because every course in golf is different.
