Spears, Men’s Track and Field Ready for Breakout Season
Cortez Spears is a sophomore at Siena Heights University. Spears attended Robichaud High School.
Spears said he is looking to have a breakout year this upcoming track season. I was able to catch up with spears this past Friday and ask him about this upcoming season and coach expectations for this season.
“My goal is to just keep working hard in the classroom and on the track. Just to become a better player and person than last year.”
The Saints are coming off a good offseason of training.
“We worked hard this summer. I think everybody on the team has bought in and want to be great and do great things,” Spears said. “Coach has done a great job of pushing us to the limit, I think he know that we’re fully bought in now. He expects everyone to do well and work hard every single day. In the classroom and as well on the track.”
The Saints have kicked the indoor season off and headed to Saginaw Valley State University to participate in the Holiday Classic on Dec. 7 to compete against some of the top talent across the Midwest.
