FOOD REVIEW: O’ Charley’s
I recently took a trip to Ohio to let loose of responsibilities and expectations of the social world. Spending time away from Adrian seems to be one of the best ways to relax and configure life. In that configuring, it is necessary to splurge in order to silence the tummy and tame some cravings. After some analysis and reflecting upon what restaurant aligns the most with those cravings, a final decision was made: O’ Charley’s Restaurant & Bar.
O’ Charley’s holds an atmosphere perfect for the family who loves to interact while they stuff their face. Of course, there are TVs in almost every angle, if you are looking to get your fix of sports entertainment. The TVs are mounted on walls that are constructed of stone. Light reflects off the shape of the rocks, while shade rests in the deeper areas of the wall, giving the perfect paradox of lighting to create the atmosphere.
The aroma of fresh soup and fried chicken seeps past the doors to the parking lot, where it attracts those crave suppressors – such as me – to gravitate into its deliciousness. The food choices are southern inspired, so it should be expected for there to be some fried tomatoes and battered cod as main entrée choices. Then there’s the classic chicken pot pie or slow-roasted ribs, as well as a plethora of sides to complete the plate. There’s beer on tap and choices of red and white wine to accompany the dish. That’s if O’ Charley’s tea isn’t your first choice!
The service was flowing, and seemed to be able to hold itself together.
All in all, if one is looking to dine with some good company, share some moments in a good atmosphere, and eat southern inspired food, then O Charley’s Restaurant & Bar should be soon in your sights.
