September 19

Women’s Soccer VS. Saint Francis (Ind.). W 4-0.

The Saints scored two goals apiece in both halves to cruise past Saint Francis (Ind.) for a 4-0 shutout victory. Leading the team with two goals was Paige Rachut, while Samantha Bartelotti and Kathryn Gordan added the other goals for the Saints. Earning assists were Erin Scheidel, Ashley Strong and Bartelotti. The winning goalkeeper for SHU was Sophia Lentz. Lentz finished the contest with three saves.

 

September 20

Women’s Golf @ Lourdes Invitational

The Saints placed first place overall at the Lourdes Invitational thanks to the help of Lauren Cojei and Dakota Spears. Cojei and Spears finished in first and second place with shots of 81 and 83, respectively. Carley Hall finished in fourth place with an 85. Rounding out the scoring for SHU was Madisyn Reed with an 87 while Allison Barron carded a 99.

Men’s Soccer VS. Cleary. W 5-0.

The Saints got out to a strong start and never looked back as they downed Cleary by a final score of 5-0. Leading the way for the Saints was Rahbar Kahn with two goals and three assists. Matt Lentine also added two goals and an assist while Justin Gray added the final goal. Earning the shutout victory for SHU was Andrew Kozan. Kozan made seven saves in goal.

Women’s Volleyball @ Concordia. W 3-0.

The Saints had no problem against Concordia as they won all three sets by scores of 25-8, 25-14 and 25-14 to earn the 3-0 match victory. Leading the way for the Saints with 13.5 points and nine kills was Elizabeth Burton. Amanda Metz led SHU with three service aces while Gabby Kalugar led with 16 digs.

 

September 23

Football VS. Saint Francis (Ill.). W 34-16

A strong 21 points in the second quarter helped lead the Saints to a 34-16 victory over Saint Francis (Ill.). Lucas Barner Jr. went 18-23 for 228 yards and threw three passing touchdowns while also picking up a rushing touchdown. D’Aries Davis however led the Saints with 16 carries for 91 yards. Deontae’ Rush, Adam Glanders and Jerrold King all hauled in a touchdown for SHU. Leading the Saints defensively with 19 total tackles was Nick Stalworth. Zachary Flack, Wyatt Gardocki and Darius Price all forced fumbles for the Saints while Malik Edwards blocked a field goal attempt. Price returned the blocked field goal 90 yards for a touchdown and finished the contest with a team-leading three pass break-ups.

Baseball @ Madonna. L 11-1.

The Saints struggled early as they fell 11-1 to Madonna. Josh Tirey went 1-2 with an RBI for the Saints while Kevin Ketvirtis went 1-3 with a run scored. Carson Wlad and Logan Nolff also had a hit for the Saints. Earning the loss on the mound for SHU was Reid Olmstead. Olmstead pitched 3.2 innings and allowed 12 hits, nine runs (five earned) and two walks to go with two strikeouts.

Baseball @ Madonna. L 12-2.

The Saints once again struggled against Madonna as they fell to a final score of 12-2. Jack Slavin went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Saints while Josh Tirey also drove in a run. Earning the loss on the mound for SHU was Wyatt West. West pitched three innings and allowed six hits, five runs (three earned), and a walk to go with a strikeout.

Women’s Soccer VS. Madonna. W 2-0.

The Saints were able to score two goals in the second half to earn a 2-0 shutout victory over Madonna. Scoring both goals for the Saints was Kathryn Gordon while Danielle Eastman and Samantha Bartelotti earned assists. Earning the win in net for SHU was Meghan Bogg. Bogg finished the contest with seven saves.

Men’s Soccer VS. Madonna. L 2-1.

After a scoreless first half, the Saints fell behind and came up just short of a comeback as they fell 2-1 to Madonna. Scoring the lone goal for the Saints was Chris Ornelas off a free kick. Rahbar Kahn led the team with five shots. Earning the loss for SHU was Morgen Gardocki. Gardocki allowed two goals while making eight saves.

 

September 24

Men’s Golf @ Defiance Invitational.

The Saints finished for a tie in eleventh place at the Defiance Invitational with a team score of 321. Aaron Bitz, Dominic Dimaya and Drew Whelan all shot an 80 for the Saints. Rounding out the scoring for SHU was Nick Sanscrainte and Jimmy Monteith with an 81 and 83, respectively.

Baseball @ Madonna. L 14-4.

After scoring two runs in the first, the Saints fell behind and were unable to get a comeback together, as they fell 14-4 to Madonna. Jack Slavin went 2-4 with two runs scored for the Saints while Brendan Baker went 2-4 with a run scored and two RBI’s. Nate Fryz also scored while Logan Nolff and Kevin Ketvirtis drove in runs. Earning the loss on the mound for SHU was Tristan Roth. Roth pitched three innings allowing six hits, seven runs (five earned) to go with a walk and two strikeouts.
