September 12
Men’s Golf @ Jon P. Speiss Invitational.
The Saints finished in tenth place with a team score of 331. Leading SHU with a 79 was Nick Sanscrainte. Robert Kowalenko followed with an 81 and Nate Hamilton shot an 84 while Dominic Dimaya and Darien Zeluff shot 87.
September 13
Men’s Soccer @ Saint Francis (Ind.). L 4-2.
The Saints allowed three goals in the second half and were unable to come back as they fell 4-2 to Saint Francis (Ind.). Rahbar Kahn led the Saints with a goal and an assist while Justin Gray added the other goal. Earning the loss in net for SHU was Morgen Gardocki. Gardocki allowed four goals while making one save.
Women’s Volleyball @ Rochester. W 3-0.
The Saints won all three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-16 to sweep Rochester by a match score of 3-0. Christine Tylutki led SHU with 8.5 points and eight digs while Paige Hudgin had eight points and digs apiece. Leading the Saints with 20 digs was Gabby Kaluga.
Women’s Soccer @ Marian. L 2-1.
The Saints were unable to rally past Marian, as they fell 2-1 in the non-conference contest. The lone goal for the Saints came off a header from a cross into the box. Ashley Strong led the team with two shots on goal. Earning the loss in net was Taylor Hill. Hill allowed two goals while making five saves.
September 14
Men’s Golf @ WHAC Jamboree #3.
The Saints finished in sixth place out with a score of 309. Leading the way for SHU was Nick Sanscrainte with a score of 71, which tied him for fourth place. Aaron Bitz followed with a 78 while Dominic Dimaya and Jimmy Monteith finished with a score of 80 apiece.
September 15
Men’s Cross Country @ National Catholic Invitational.
The Saints totaled 2:18:19 for an average 8k time of 27:40 and earning 125 points to earn third place. Leading the way for SHU was Esrom Woldemichael with a time of 25:57.7 to earn sixth place overall. Anthony Vermilye finished 18th with a run of 27:12.9. Bradley Bauer and Joe Vermilye finished in 23rd and 34th place with times of 27:31.8 and 28:31.3, respectively. Nicholas Barth rounded out the running for the Saints with a time of 29:05.4.
Baseball VS. Roosevelt (Ill.). L 1-0.
The Saints dropped their season opener by a final score of 1-0 to non-conference opponent, Roosevelt (Ill.). Freddy Jehle went 2-3 with a walk out of the leadoff spot for the Saints while centerfielder, Logan Nolff went 2-4. Taking the tough loss for SHU was Reid Olmstead. Olmstead pitched six innings for the Saints and allowed seven hits, one earned run and six strikeouts.
September 16
Baseball VS. Roosevelt (Ill.). L 7-2.
The Saints allowed seven runs within the first four innings and were unable to rally back, as they fell 7-2 to Roosevelt (Ill.). Brendan Baker went 2-3 with an RBI for the Saints while Brendan Green drove in the other run. Coming around to score for the Saints were infielders, Freddy Jehle and Josh Tirey. Earning the loss for SHU was Tristan Roth. Roth pitched three innings for the Saints and allowed seven runs (three earned), and two walks to go with three strikeouts.
Women’s Volleyball VS. Lawrence Tech. W 3-2.
The Saints fell behind 1-0 and 2-1 before coming back to pull even and pull ahead of Lawrence Tech to earn the 3-2 victory. Paige Hudgin’s led the Saints with 31 digs, 17.5 points, 13 kills and four service aces. Christine Tylutki also added 13 kills while Anna Tartarian added four service aces as well.
Men’s Soccer VS. Huntington (Ind.). W 4-3.
The Saints were able to pick up their first win of the season as they defeated Huntington (Ind.). 4-3, in double overtime. Earning the winning goal for the Saints was Justin Gray. Also scoring for Siena Heights was Brent Rodden, Enoch Tsibu-Beckson and Rahbar Kahn. Kahn also added two assists for the Saints. Earning the win for SHU was Andrew Kozan who allowed one goal and made three saves.
Baseball VS. Roosevelt (Ill.). W 3-2.
The Saints were able to score three runs in the third inning to hang on for a 3-2 victory, and their first victory of the season. Brendan Green went 2-3 with a run scored and two RBI’s for the Saints while Brendan Baker also went 2-3 with an RBI. Also scoring for the Saints was Deric Cain and Nate Fryz. Earning the win for SHU was Wyatt West. West pitched four shutout innings for the Saints, allowing just three hits to go with two strikeouts.
Football @ Robert Morris (Ill.) W 31-29.
The Saints outscored Robert Morris 14-3 in the 3rd quarter and were able to hang on to 31-29 victory for their first win of the season. Lucas Barner Jr. went 14-22 for 134 yards and a touchdown. D’aries Davis rushed 33 times for 152 yards and two touchdowns while Ronnie Giles rushed five times for 17 yards and a touchdown. Deontae’ Rush was able to haul in a receiving touchdown while Brady Tanguay contributed a 35 yard field goal and connected on all four PAT attempts. Leading SHU defensively was Raymond Williams Jr with 10 tackles. Trevon Claybourne added an interception for the defense.
Women’s Soccer VS Mount Vernon Nazarene. W 2-0.
The Saints scored two goals in the second half to earn a 2-0 shutout victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene. Getting the first and game winning goal for Siena Heights was Emily Burkman on a penalty kick. Erin Scheidel added an unassisted insurance goal for the Saints to put the game out of reach. Earning the shutout victory for SHU was Meghan Bogg. Bogg saved all five shots that she faced.
