Rain Does Not Stop Trick-or-Treating for Annual Halloween Walk
Siena Heights University hosted its annual Halloween Walk on Oct. 26. Despite the rainy day, many children from the Adrian community showed up for a spooky time on Ledwidge and Archangelus halls.
The event, promoted by SPARC partnering with Residence Life and Student Housing Council, is a well-known tradition that brings members from the community to visit the school while enjoying some treats and exhibiting a great variety of costumes. The Resident Assistants with the help of their residents decorated the halls to transform the college hallways into a frightening but fun atmosphere.
During the event, the children and their parents go through the halls while students hand out candy right outside their rooms. According to SPARC, the group invested $1,000 in candy this year. Also, it brought a photo booth to the ballroom so that students and children could get some fun pictures with their costumes.
According to the Director of Student Engagement Gabe Dunbar, more than 300 children and parents visited during the Halloween Walk. He said, “it’s a great event to bring in families from the community to trick-or-treat in a safe environment. Students enjoy being able to showcase their homes and kids like the opportunity to check out college and get free candy.”
